Compliance with the Medical Advertising Guidelines

歯科ハミール高田88 complies with the “Guidelines on Advertisements Concerning Medical and Dental Practices, Hospitals and Clinics (the Medical Advertising Guidelines)” established by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, and provides information to patients in accordance with those guidelines.
To give patients accurate information and let them receive treatment without worry, we avoid exaggerated or false advertising and publish only objective, verifiable facts.
What Are the Medical Advertising Guidelines?
The Medical Advertising Guidelines are rules governing how medical institutions may advertise, so that patients can choose the right institution for them. Following a revision to the Medical Care Act in June 2018, websites also became subject to these advertising regulations.
The guidelines prohibit false advertising, exaggerated advertising, comparative advertising that claims superiority, and advertising contrary to public order and morality, among other things. They also restrict claims that guarantee treatment results or safety, and publishing patient testimonials or before-and-after photos by themselves.
Our clinic follows these guidelines and aims to give patients accurate, easy-to-understand information.
Our Policy on Advertising Content
Providing Accurate Information
We provide accurate, easy-to-understand information about the content of treatment, costs, risks and side effects. We do not use exaggerated or misleading wording, and publish only objective facts.
Disclosing the Risks and Side Effects of Treatment
Every treatment carries risks and side effects. We take the time to explain the risks and side effects of treatment as well as its benefits, and we publish this information on our website too, so that patients can choose their treatment based on sufficient information.
Clear Fee Information
For self-pay treatment, we provide a clear fee breakdown and state whether tax is included. We explain the cost before treatment begins, and start treatment only once you are satisfied with the explanation.
About Self-Pay Treatment (Treatment Not Covered by Insurance)
Our clinic offers both insured treatment and self-pay treatment. Because insurance does not apply to self-pay treatment, patients pay the full cost. However, self-pay treatment makes it possible to receive treatments that insured care cannot provide, or treatments with higher aesthetic and functional quality.
Main Types of Self-Pay Treatment
Sedation and Botox
Orthodontic Treatment
Invisalign clear-aligner orthodontics, partial orthodontics, pediatric orthodontics and more
Cosmetic Treatment
Ceramic treatment, whitening, Angel Veneer, gum peeling and more
Implant Treatment
Implant treatment to replace missing teeth, implant treatment combined with bone grafting and more
Regenerative Therapy for Periodontal Disease
Emdogain, Regroth, GBR, CTG, crown-lengthening surgery and more
About Treatment Costs
The cost of self-pay treatment varies depending on the content of treatment and the materials used. For details, please see our pricing page, or we will explain the cost during your counseling session. Dental loans are also available, so if you have any concerns about cost, just talk to us.
About the Risks and Side Effects of Treatment
Every dental treatment carries risks and side effects. We explain the risks and side effects before treatment begins, and start treatment only after you understand them.
Risks of General Dental Treatment
Cavity Treatment
Fillings or crowns may come loose, crack, or lead to secondary decay. If treatment is performed to preserve the nerve, nerve treatment may become necessary at a later date.
Root Canal Treatment
Pain or swelling may occur after treatment. If the shape of the root canal is complex, some bacteria may remain, and retreatment may become necessary.
Periodontal Disease Treatment
Temporary tooth sensitivity may occur after tartar removal. In cases of severe periodontal disease, it may not be possible to save the tooth even with treatment.
Tooth Extraction
Pain, swelling and bleeding occur after an extraction. When extracting a lower wisdom tooth, there is a small risk of nerve damage causing numbness.
Risks and Side Effects of Self-Pay Treatment
Invisalign (Clear-Aligner Orthodontics)
If the aligners are not worn long enough, the teeth may not move as planned. Moving the teeth can cause temporary pain or discomfort. After treatment, a retainer must be worn to prevent the teeth from shifting back.
Ceramic Treatment
Ceramic can crack under strong force. Because the tooth must be shaved down, increased sensitivity can occur.
Whitening
Temporary tooth sensitivity may occur. Results vary between individuals, and you may not reach the shade of white you hoped for. The color can also fade back over time.
Implant Treatment
Because surgery is required, pain, swelling and bleeding occur afterward. The bone and the implant may fail to fuse together. If peri-implantitis occurs, the implant can be lost. Regular maintenance is required.
