Airflow cleaning used a fine dental powder with water and air to remove stains from tooth surfaces.

The powder spray removed deposits without scraping them with a metal instrument.

Treatment removed stains from the backs of the teeth and between teeth, along with bacterial biofilm associated with decay and gum disease. The teeth regained their original color and a smooth surface.

Risks & side effects
Because the powder spray is under pressure, those with sensitive teeth or inflamed gums may feel temporary tingling or stinging.

Also, after the procedure the pellicle (the film that protects the tooth surface) is removed, making the teeth more prone to staining, so for 2–3 hours after treatment you need to avoid food and drink with intense colors (such as coffee, tea, curry or red wine) and smoking.
