CASE 05
Root Canal Treatment
BEFORE
AFTER
- Treatment
- The root canal was cleaned to remove the old medication and bacteria, then filled with MTA cement. At the 3-month follow-up, the area of inflammation at the root tip (the dark shadow) had decreased, with signs of bone regeneration and healing. MTA cement provides a seal and has antibacterial properties because of its high alkalinity.
- Duration & visits
- About 1.5 to 2 months (about 4–5 visits). Follow-up: 3 to 6 months after treatment
- Cost
- From ¥29,700 (tax included) (breakdown: MTA cement ¥22,000 + root canal filling material ¥7,700). *A CT diagnostic fee (¥3,960) and the cost of a crown are an additional charge.
- Risks & side effects
- Temporary pain or swelling can occur during treatment or just after it. If the shape of the root canal is complex or the area of infection is too large, surgical treatment may become necessary, and there remains some risk that the tooth will not achieve complete healing and will need to be extracted.
CASE 04
Wisdom Tooth with Horizontal Impaction
BEFORE
AFTER
- Treatment
- Lower-left third molar: mandibular wisdom tooth with horizontal impaction
- Duration & visits
- 1–2 weeks, 2 visits
- Cost
- About ¥8,000–9,000 including CT
(TERUPLUG hemostatic agent ¥11,000, an additional charge) - Risks & side effects
- Risk of mandibular nerve numbness
(loss of sensation. Reports say this can be permanent in a very small proportion of cases, but it is more likely you will feel pain from the wisdom tooth itself)
CASE 03
Angel Veneer
BEFORE
AFTER
- Treatment
- A thin layer of the front tooth surfaces was prepared before bonding custom ceramic shells (laminate veneers). The veneers changed tooth color, repaired worn edges and adjusted uneven shapes.
- Duration & visits
- About 1 to 1.5 months, 3–4 visits (counseling, impression-taking, fitting, etc.)
- Cost
- ¥113,300 per tooth (tax included) and up (*for reference: based on the e-max ceramic menu). *The cost varies depending on the number of teeth treated and the material used (such as zirconia or e-max).
- Risks & side effects
- A small amount of healthy tooth surface must be removed. If you bite hard objects or have a habit of grinding your teeth, the veneer may crack or come off. Temporary sensitivity may occur after treatment.
CASE 02
Angel Veneer
BEFORE
AFTER
- Treatment
- About 0.3–0.5mm of the tooth surface was removed before bonding thin ceramic shells (laminate veneers). The veneers changed the tooth color beyond the result of whitening alone and adjusted tooth shape and the appearance of alignment.
- Duration & visits
- About 1 month, 2–3 visits (impression → fitting)
- Cost
- ¥113,300 per tooth (tax included) and up (*for reference: based on the e-max ceramic menu). *The cost varies depending on the number of teeth and the material (such as zirconia).
- Risks & side effects
- A small amount of healthy tooth surface must be removed. If strong force is applied, such as from your bite or teeth grinding, the veneer may crack or come off. Temporary sensitivity may occur after treatment.
CASE 01
Teeth Whitening
BEFORE
AFTER
- Treatment
- The Perfect Whitening Set combined in-office whitening with home whitening. In-office treatment used a high-concentration whitening agent and light; home treatment continued the whitening process and helped maintain the result.
- Duration & visits
- Duration: about 1 month (3 in-office sessions + home care each day)
- Cost
- Total ¥104,500 (tax included) (breakdown: Perfect Whitening Set [3-session office course + at-home whitening kit])
- Risks & side effects
- Because of the whitening agent, temporary sensitivity (a stinging feeling in the teeth) can occur during or after treatment. Results vary from person to person, and after the procedure you need to limit foods and drinks with a high risk of staining (such as coffee or curry). The whiteness may also fade back over time.
